Wal-Mart Story

Pre-Field Orientation
Wal-Mart Story

The other day, I was checking out at Wal-Mart.

"Wow!  That's alot of school supplies," said the check out girl.

"Yep.  I'm a teacher and gotta get ready for back to school!"

"Oh really," she responded.  "Where do you teach?"

"I teach at an international school in Brazil."

Sabine Creek Camp #1
"Oh wow!  Well, it looks like you like colors!  I bet y'all play alot of games?  I loved when I was little and played games all the time."

I replied, "We sure do!"

At about this point in the conversation it was time for me to pay the more-than-one-hundred-dollar bill for all of these school supplies when the check out lady and I were interrupted by the lady behind me in line.

"Excuse me.  I am not trying to be nosey, but I overheard that you are teaching in Brazil and I think that's awesome.  I want to contribute to a little bit of your school supplies.  It's not much, but I want to help you."

Then, she handed me a ten dollar bill.

What a blessing!  A complete stranger contributing to my class!   Praise God!
