Skit Story
"Ooooh! I want to be in the skit!" said one of my 4th grade students. I draw names from my popsicle cup so that I don't pick favorites. And, I actually picked that student for one of the roles: Thomas in John 11. "Ok. You get to be Thomas." I told her. "Yes! Look what he says, 'Let's go too and die with Jesus.'" This kid was so excited to be this role in the skit.
He calls us to "Follow Him; to pick up our cross daily and follow Him." Carrying a cross leads definitively to death. It leads us away from comfort, into sacrifice. What does carrying your cross look like in your life? Where are you dying?
Thomas understood.
Do we?
For a third grader the concept is fun, exciting, new, foundational for all of their many years of more complicated math that lies ahead. My 3rd graders are little geniuses! They work so hard and I am so proud of them! Isn't that what our lives should look like: Multiplication through discipleship.
This semester, I have been meeting weekly with 2 high school girls at BIS. We have been going through the book, "Not a Fan," by Kyle Idleman. God has totally used this time to challenge, strengthen, lead, and convict us of many different things.
Next semester, we will be going through
The Multiply Movement by Francis Chan and David Platt. All of the materials have been made available on their website for free! Watch the intro
video!
Please pray for my discipleship group. We meet every Tuesday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. It's 11:30 - 12:30 in Dallas. So, use a little but of your lunch time on Tuesdays to pray for us!
