Pineapple Tea

Big Lips

"Can you pass the pineapple tea?" I asked Jessica.

 

"Sure," she responded as she picked up the steaming pitcher of boiled pineapple skins. 

Almost immediately after taking a sip of the tea, my lips began to itch, and eventually swell. 

Not to mention, we had a guest over that day!  

So, there I was, continually biting my bottom lip to ease the itching, but with every soothing bite, the swelling only increased.  

I just wanted to share this semi-embarrasing story.  I have since eaten pineapple as a fruit and drank the juice, I just didn't drink the pineapple tea made from the peel!  

Just kidding!  Mine aren't that bad!  

Eye Surgery Results

I have had to use glasses since 1st grade, and contacts since 3rd grade.  So, I can proudly state that I am typing this blog without the use of prescription glasses or contacts.  However, I am using the extremely attractive sunglasses that you typically see the elderly people using when they come out of the eye doctor after having their eyes dilated. 

I had PRK Laser surgery done on both of my eyes on April 11th.  I had one week off of school to recover and am seeing much better.  The doctor says that this surgery, unlike LASIK, takes about one month to gain full 20/20 vision back.  I am one week and and recovering well, but my vision isn't perfect yet.  

Please continue to pray for my eyes to heal correctly and complete vision to be restored.

Upcoming Visitors

My younger brother, Marshall, will be headed to Brazil from May 18-June 9.  I am so excited! Please pray for him to arrive safely and that we have an amazing time together!

My mom will be coming to visit me in October!  Wahoo!!!  I am pumped about this too!  

Awesome Summer Ahead...

The new 2013 Dreds & Torpedo Shirt

Marshall and I head home on June 9 and Dreds & Torpedo start our first 2013 Kids Camp on June 17th.  The LORD has blessed us with leading kids worship for 5 different preteen camps this summer: Mt. Lebanon, Sabine Creek, and Kauf-Van. Check out our actual event schedule here!  

Please pray:

1.  That God moves in a mighty way at each of the camps and draws people to Himself.  

2.  That God uses our band to lead people straight to Jesus.  

3.  That all glory will be given to God for all that happens this summer.  

4.  Safe travel to and from the various camps.

5.  Good bonding with the new band members.
