Multiply=Discipleship

My Discipleship Group

I sent a note or had a brief conversation (similar to the one below) with these girls over Christmas Break.

"Dear Senior High School Girls,
I would like to invite you to join me in discipleship this semester.  We will meet every Tuesday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. We will be discussing Multiply by Francis Chan and David Platt each week after you read the assigned reading at home.  I am going to commit to you each week (emotionally, physically, spiritually), and would like you to do the same if you choose to join the discipleship group."

This is not an easy challenge for a high school student!  Committing every Tuesday to physically be there, to actively participate, and to be transparent about their lives is not always easy.  Yet, each week, we come together ready to ask questions, hold each other accountable, discuss what we have read, pray for each other, laugh together, and grow together.  I have been blessed, challenged, and loved so much by these 6 young ladies and I am looking forward to another year together!

Prayer Requests:

1. My younger brother, Marshall, is leaving on Saturday to come visit me for 3 weeks.  He will arrive in Brasilia on Sunday morning.  Please pray for his safety, connections at the airport, customs (sometimes minors have difficulty entering Brazil because the requirements are not clearly communicated from the airlines and the consulate), that our relationship is strengthened, and we have a blast together!  Pray for Marshall's mom to have peace while he is here and not worry... well... not worry too much.

2. Summer Camps - Pray for Dreds & Torpedo as we will be leading worship at 5 preteen camps this summer.  I am super pumped! Pray that the new band members learn the songs quickly and that we build strong, challenging friendships.  Pray that kids will learn about Jesus, will have faith in Him, and will commit their lives to following Him and making disciples.

3.  Our trip back to Dallas from Brazil on June 9th.

4. Continue to pray for my health.

• My eyes are getting better each day.  The doctor said that they are healing normally, but my vision could take up to 4 months to be completely restored.  
• I am still battling some kind of allergy/infection.  Pray for complete healing.
