October-Bugs, Janice, Sauna, New Fruit

Sirens?
Nope.
Cicadas.
A constant high-pitched squealing ring.
Not annoying.
A blessing.
Reminds me how unaware of their presence
Until we hear their murmuring.

Or, a bathroom decorated with their shells
Thanks to 3 lovely Axworthy children.
Good thing bug shells are a part of my childhood

June bugs in October?
Maybe here they should be called "October Bugs."

Termite mating season.
Female termites have wings.
We named the winged termites, "Janice."
Janice is everywhere!
The male termites are "Wallace."
Janice sheds her wings very often.
Often enough to need to sweep daily.

Nice October breeze.
Windows open at night.
Just make sure the lights are out.
Or, you will have Janice and Wallace all around.

Beginnings of rainy season.
My old-clunker of a car only has a heater.
Windows up in the rain is like a sauna.
Sauna and sweat?
or, Cool and wet?

Typically the latter wins.

Sunsets.
Rainbows.
Short rains.
Flash floods.

For many that fear the frizz,
I am blessed with normal hair days.
Flat. Straight. Blonde.
Sometimes I want the fluff.

Mango season.
They're getting ripe on the trees,
But still green.

We had our first batch of bananas from our yard.
And, a new fruit.
We learned that it is edible.
Trial and error.
Glad there was no error.

Tons of monkeys.
They eat from our hands.
